Aunt Kip's Holiday get together:

The holiday season is shifting into high gear in Connecticut and we have received Kip's get together announcement. Hope to see many of you there. We also have ready for your holiday enjoyment Aunt Sharlie's rememberance of her 1979 visit to the birthplace of Grandma Fitz, Catherine Burke Fitzgerald. Go Here!

Some of you may have already heard that my mom, Aunt Vee is recovering from hip surgery after a fall on the day after Thanksgiving. She still has a sense of humor remarking that she managed to climb the 20 steps up to Jim's hilltop home with a little help but tripped walking across her room. She is still quite weak but coming along. We expect that she will be released from the hospital (Good Samaritan, West Islip) in a few days.

The White Book looks great and it's a fabulous resource, especially since so many of us cousins are so spread out across the country. I'll do my best to keep the northwest faction involved in family affairs. I'm in fairly regular contact with Brian White and Mary Auryansen (who lives less than a mile from me), and of course my brother Tommy (he's 45 minutes from me). We see Claire and Ralph Horowitz about once a year, along with George and Doris if they happen to be out during our annual visits.

It took us 4 hours to get there but we spent Thanksgiving day at Wendy's in Seldon and then went to Port Jefferson to St Charles Rehab after dinner to see Mom. She's doing better (after a minor set back) but hopefully she'll be home by Christmas. We spent the night at Susie's and yes we did talk about getting pix and stuff for the website. The family is traveling up to my house the day after Christmas to celebrate together,we usually get a group shot -need a wide angle these days to get all th kids in!

I hope to get the kids into Kip's on the 11th
