Welcome
to the April page. We have some very exciting items
for you all this month, the most impressive of which
is the eagerly anticipated electronic completion of
Mom White's Memoirs
by Aunt Mary Clare. First compiled in 1989, xerox copies
of these have been around in the intervening years.
It
is hard to pick a single favorite from all the stories
but I personaly like the one about Niagara
Falls by Moonlight.
Whether
or not you have read them before, we know you will enjoy
reading these wonderful reminiscences and sharing them
with your families.
Thank you Aunt Mary Clare.
Note
the download links at the top right of the page. Here
you can get your own electronic copy in MSWord.doc or
plain.txt format to print out for armchair reading.

We
heard also from Steve and Elizabeth Chayer who tell
us they were out at the crack of dawn a couple of Sundays
ago to watch the famous King Dome come down. In the
photo below we see Andrew, Elizabeth and Dennis amidst
the departing throng on the fateful morning. I am guessing
here, but perhaps the arrow on the sign is pointing
just about where the King Dome used to be. Follow the
link at the end of this note to experience a little
Demo-tainment courtesy of Steve Chayer. (Blast
the stadium to King Dome come)

Hey Gang!
We're
sending several photos of the recent Seattle Kindome
implosion/demolition for posting on the White site.
In these photos you'll see detailed frames as the dynamite
detonates! Real Cool!
We were there. We left the house at 4:30 am Sunday morning
to get a good viewing location high atop a hill near
the dome. It was quite a carnival atmosphere up there
as many people had camped out all night in lawn chairs
and blankets.Thousands more came after we did so we
were glad we took the initiative to leave home early
when we did. Everyone was great! The boys, Andy & Denny,
had a good time. We got this fantastic spot to watch
from. The detonation, to quote author Sandra Vowel,
"left me feeling giddy in a way that's hard to describe."
But it was cool!
Later,
at home, we taped a local news stations video clip of
the event where they used ninecameras at different viewing
angles. The visual was awe inspiring even on TV. It
left my son Andy and I feeling a little sad. Almost
as though we'd witnessed a death. Weird but true.
Enjoy
the pics.
